The Aggie Century Tree Project began in 2010 as a fundraiser for a $100,000 President's Endowed Scholarship for Texas A&M University. The Century Tree President's Endowed Scholarship was funded in October 2012, and the first scholarship was awarded in August 2014. Each year, a deserving Texas A&M student receives a $4,000 to $5,000 scholarship, which represents the investment earnings of this permanent endowment.
The project also became a way for Aggies across the southern United States to grow a little piece of Aggieland in their own front yard, to be enjoyed by Former Students and their families for generations to come.
Century Tree seedlings are grown from acorns harvested from the Century Tree in the Academic Plaza, located in the heart of the A&M campus. These live oak seedlings are available for purchase year-round, and are available in one, two, three, and four-year old sizes.
In addition to the President’s Endowed Scholarship, the Aggie Century Tree Project has also funded the following scholarships:

$25,000 Sul Ross Scholarship at the Texas A&M Foundation

A seed of an idea has gone on to successfully fund multiple scholarships for Texas A&M University, and has spread little pieces of Aggieland to more than 500 locations across the country.
